Have you completed Phased Array Level II through an online program or another course that didn’t provide the hands-on time needed to fully develop your skills—or are you ready to move beyond the basics and advance your phased array capabilities? This PAUT Level II course delivers the practical, in-depth experience required for higher-level inspection and evaluation. Training focuses on refining scan plans, applying multiple focusing techniques, using merged data views, and understanding how digitization and resolution affect inspection results. Students work through real weld inspection scenarios, examining weld flaw characteristics, reviewing data on external devices, applying color palettes for accurate interpretation, and performing both length and height sizing with zonal discrimination—building the technical judgment and confidence needed for effective Level II phased array inspections in the field

This 16-hour Phased Array (PAUT II) Hands on course delivers the advanced, hands-on skills technicians need to confidently perform phased array inspections in real-world conditions. Building on Level I fundamentals, students receive in-depth instruction and practical application in advanced scan plan development, various focusing types and their specific uses, and an understanding of digitization rates and data resolution and how they affect inspection quality. Training includes interpretation of advanced phased array screen presentations, use of the merged B-scan, and detailed evaluation of weld flaw characteristics encountered in production and in-service inspections. Students also gain experience reviewing weld inspection data on external devices, applying different color palettes to support accurate interpretation and sizing, and performing both length and height sizing techniques. Emphasis is placed on zonal discrimination of weld flaws to ensure proper classification and evaluation. This course bridges the gap between theory and field application, delivering the technical judgment, practical capability, and confidence required for Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Level II inspections.

The course includes 16 hours of hands-on training. Upon successful completion, participants will receive 16 total hours of accredited classroom training and a Classroom Certificate, with knowledge assessed through an exam.
