Turn Ultrasonic Testing Level I into a hands-on skill you can trust in the field. Train on the Epoch 650 and 38DL Plus, perform DAC and TCG calibrations, and learn how instrument setup and settings impact what you see on the screen. Through real-world exercises, you’ll detect and interpret corrosion, pitting, and internal flaws like laminations and inclusions, use B-scan and gage view with confidence, and produce clear, professional inspection reports. This course moves UT from classroom theory to real inspection capability.

This 16-hour Ultrasonic Testing Level I (UT I) course delivers the real-world, confidence-building skills inspectors need to perform accurate ultrasonic inspections in the field. Students gain extensive, hands-on experience using industry-standard instruments, including the Epoch 650 and 38DL Plus, learning how instrument settings, transducer selection, and calibration techniques directly affect inspection results. The course covers proper equipment setup, velocity calibration, sensitivity adjustment, and DAC and TCG calibration methods used in practical UT applications. Through guided exercises, students learn to perform straight-beam flaw detection on a variety of wrought products, developing the skills needed to detect and interpret real ultrasonic indications. Training focuses on identifying wall-loss conditions such as corrosion, erosion, and pitting, as well as recognizing internal discontinuities including laminations and inclusions. Students also gain experience using B-scan and gage view features to support interpretation, verification, and documentation of inspection results. Whether you are new to ultrasonic testing or have completed prior training with limited hands-on exposure, this course bridges the gap between theory and application. Emphasis is placed on proper data recording, evaluation, and professional report completion, ensuring students leave with practical UT skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to apply Ultrasonic Testing Level I techniques on the job.
